Landing Off-Airport in a River

August 25, 2020 — A week ago, I took my good friend and longtime coworker James up with me for the mountain, river, and city tour around the greater Seattle area. Along the way, we came across a prime spot for demonstrating basic off-airport helicopter operations.

In this video, I run you through my basic approach for selecting a spot, verifying that it’s a viable landing zone, and entering and exiting the area. I hope you enjoy it — I know we did! :D
